A scavanger hunt is afoot!

Well, today I am cleaning the house and in places you would never think you would see, I am finding onions and potatoes! It is amazing how Josh can get them out and hide them all over the house. They are under the kitchen cabinets, under the bench, behind the coat rack, under the couch. Yesterday he brought me a package of jello and asked me to make it, so I told him to set it on the counter and I would. well that didn't work for him I guess because he opened it and ate it with his fingers. Just like those bags of colored sugar that come with a hard candy stick for Halloween. AWESOME, not. He stole a box of macaroni from my girlfriends house (she said he could keep it). I said I would make it when we got home. TOO LONG for Josh, so he opened the cheese packet and got it all over the car and into the box. He then came in the house with and I told him it was no good since it had the cheese in it, so he figured he would find a pot and cook it himself. Thankfully he can't turn the stove on yet. Today when I was making shells and cheese for his lunch, he ripped open the cheese packet with his teeth and tried to put it in the boiling water.  He is something else. He keeps me going all day. Have a wonderful day!

Short but not sweet!

I don't have 3 children. I have 2 children and a whirling dervish! Josh just today has done a weeks worth of "torture mom" things. He got out of bed at 6:30 and went and woke Ian up. He got mad because his flashlight doesn't open and then tossed it at the car door while I was driving.  He opened the mustard I bought while still at the store. This is after he ran away at the store so he could go look at toys!  Then when I unpacked the groceries onto the kitchen table, he took that mustard and got it all over the kitchen chair. He took the peanut butter jar and filled it with water and stuck a straw in it. He took the sloppy joe can and took it into the bedroom. and OPENED it! Ugh. Who decided pull tab cans were a good idea?? A childless person I am sure. After he finished his lunch, he went into the kitchen and refilled his bowl, with the food I was making for DINNER! It''s only 12:30, and I am worn OUT! HELP!!!

Winter with Josh

Well winter has arrived here in MI. This means it is chilly. Josh LOVES to walk in the dusting of snow, every time we get some. He enjoys touching it, but then gets upset because his hands are cold. Still working on cause and effect obviously! He begs to go to church everyday, but then on the days we go, he just wants to sit in the car. He had a play date with his best friend Graham and they promptly broke into Grahams sisters room and started eating her Halloween candy! Great, now my child is the leader of the "lets steal from our siblings"gang. He is constantly trying to climb out of his car seat and it is very frustrating. He LOVES our Christmas tree even though he took a glass ornament off of it and broke it the first day we put it up. He tried to make instant oatmeal in the microwave, (yes he climbs the counter, opens the door, puts food in and pushes buttons) except he forgot the WATER, so now the house smells like burnt oatmeal. YUM. He has been helping me make cookies, some for a cookie exchange at church. Which when we went to, he kept sneaking into the cookie room and stealing cookies. He adores the library although the whole "be quiet" thing seems to be hard for him, in the car also. I think that he thinks since we are sitting in different parts of the car, we can't hear him. Everything he says in the car is done at the level you need when trying to talk in the middle of a heavy metal concert. He has lost all of my earrings, once again dumped all his baby soap into the tub to make bubbles and at the store yesterday, opened the "gogurts" and ate one and then opened the coffee creamer and pulled the safety tab off. He is still a one baby wrecking crew, but as beautiful as ever. He went with the kids and I the other day to ring the Salvation Army bell and was very cute, in his volunteer apron singing Christmas carols and ringing the bell. So maybe I am doing one or two things right. Have a beautiful advent season. God bless!
