awwww Joshie.......

Yesterday Josh was so cute. He ran into our bedroom and said to Jeff " I can do a trick! I gotta show you right away!" So Jeff goes to see this amazing trick. Josh has two cups on the table with straws, one has water and one has a chocolate ice cream/root beer float. I know it's gross, he's 3. Anyway, he puts both straws in his mouth and drinks the water and float together. Today I stupidly started cleaning my room which has now turned into a furniture rearrangement. (very common for women for those of you who don't know, move one thing and suddenly the WHOLE room has to change!)  Gonna be 99 degrees out today. I am full of forethought. NOT. So I am working away and Josh comes in and asks "Can I have a crunchy taco?" "I don't have any." I tell him. I finish moving the dresser and come out to check on him, he has made his own lunch. Awwwww what a big boy!  He has made a delicious and nutrious lunch of potato chip crumbs, a tortilla and barbcue sauce. So to recap, Josh eats and drinks things that are really only food for an alley cat and I am dirty and sweaty. YUCK! But he's happy and I am excited for a "new" room. Hope you stay cool in this HOT Thursday! Love from us to you!

Summertime with Josh

So Josh has been enjoying Summer. He LOVES having the big kids home, they love Josh in 5 minute increments. We have gone to our local Farmers Market and he enjoys eating fresh peas. YUM. He gets great pleasure out of helping to water the plants and grass. His new fridge trick is to drink the condiments instead of his old dump them out everywhere. I am thinking he will need a blood pressure test soon since his favorite "drink" is the soy sauce. YUCK! Yesterday he put Ians video game headset on and walked around having a one way conversation with Eli. It was very sweet. We also had the great pleasure of hosting my "other daughter" Kara last week and every morning Josh woke up and his first words were "where's Kara?" They are very sweet together. I am thankful he hasn't learned about the ice cream man yet, since we live on a small cul de sac they don't drive down our street. Thank God for small favors! He is moving into his big boy bed and takes on average an hour and a half to fall asleep for naptime AND at bedtime. This means I usually end up falling asleep at naptime and since I am not four or ninety four I DO NOT NEED TO NAP EVERYDAY! I am thinking I will try making him stay in there alone after story time, although I fear leaving the Tasmanian devil alone in our room. Josh can often be found jumping out the doorwall much to my irritation, stealing premade pasta salads from the fridge that are meant for dinner, busting into the big kids rooms, or playing with the hose. He is still as cute as ever and had begun to make up and tell stories. His imagination brings big smiles and laughs. I hope that you are all enjoying some sun, picnics and fireworks! See you soon!

Springtime with Josh

Josh and I love the warm weather! We have had a few squirt gun fights which he always wins. He loves to spray things. Last week we were at WalMart and ran into my friend Jamie, (a pastors wife). She had her 3 children sitting quietly and calmly in the cart. I did not. We were in the produce section where instead of having the automatic vegetable showers they have at Kroger and Meijer, they have a HOSE! With a spray nozzle. So while I am trying to catch up with her, Josh is spraying the bagged salads! GREAT, feeling like "the bad mom". When I tell him to stop, he aims that goofy hose at ME! I finally drag him off and am in the meat section, he RUNS off! Back to the hose. Of course Jamie is still over there. Now I am gonna make him sit in the cart. He can climb out so I try and let him walk although this never works out, even though he promises every time to stay right by me. I am beginning to think I will never learn. (Is there an ongoing theme in this blog about me?? I can't be the problem right?) We have enjoyed the Memorial day parade. You would think for a kid who loves candy like he does he would have been in the road the whole time, but he moped a lot. It was weird! I wanted those tootsie rolls and he WOULD not get them for me! Josh also enjoyed a pony ride at the Wixom Founders day!Was so cute but a little scary for me! Yesterday Josh said that when he grows up he want to be a lawnmower man. Brianna and Ian can be weed whackers and I can be the weed. HMMMM. Every time he goes in the swing he tries to talk to God. I guess he thinks since he is flying through the air, he is close to Heaven. He gets bummed though and says he isn't talking to God anymore because he doesn't answer back. I am working on getting him to understand God always hears you and answers you in your heart and not out loud. Today we went to Dunkin Donuts for their 6 cent coffee! He had a donut and was thirsty. I was drinking an iced coffee and gave him a sip. He promptly said, "This is coffee." "Yes it is" I replied. "I can't have coffee" he tells me. But was very happy to finish it when I was washing dishes! (At home, not at DD) Great, hope his sugar crash come right at nap time. I am so very blessed and I pray that you are too. Enjoy the beautiful flowers and fresh cut lawns. Hit a local farmers market for home grown veggies! Josh and I bought sugar snap peas today at ours and ate most of them before we got home! Until next time!
