a new Josh trick!
Well it has been a while since I posted about Josh. He has been doing all kinds of Joshie things though. Unfortunately today he has the flu (along with every other member of the house but me) probably so I can clean up all the messes! Josh has been sitting so nice at the kitchen table and eating lately! I like it, although if you walk away from him, he is likely to throw the food around and then tell you that Ian did it. That is always his excuse for everything, that Ian did it! Josh has learned how to climb up on the bathroom counters. It was when I was trying to get ready to go out and I look over and there he is ON the counter. Bummer, since I had to keep everything way back on the counter or he took it. He can now reach even those things. Today I was running Ian a bath as I was trying to get out the door with Brianna and Josh (both with the flu) to take Brianna to her dance competition. Josh decided he wanted a bath, so in he climbed, with all his clothes AND his winter boots on! Great, I quickly stripped him down, put on clean clothes and away we went. The car ride was going well until he threw up a mile from the competition. Well, he just got up, so I am going to cuddle him! see you soon, stay healthy!

A Joshie Monday
Hello all! Today the big kids had the day off from school. So this of course means Josh thinks he has 2 playmates, but in reality, he still just has me. This morning Josh enjoyed oatmeal for breakfast and some got on his shirt so I took it off of him before he got out of his chair, so he thought he was getting a bath. ( He did not) Gotta save some water you know! He climbed on his train/car table and got his foot stuck. He tried to play xbox, he thinks he can but he has forgotten, HE IS A BABY!!! At lunch I made him some Gerber shells and cheese but he didn't like them (they weren't very good) so I asked what he wanted to eat and of course he said EGGS. So I scrambled some eggs and gave them to him. A couple minutes later I looked at his plate. It was empty. Wow I said, where are all your eggs? "Chair" he says. Sure enough, he dumped them all in his chair. Weird, so I put them back on the plate for him and he ate a few bites and them threw them on the floor. UGH. I think I am going to put a shower curtain under his chair. He wanted some milk, so I gave him some from my glass and then he kept saying, "milk, chocolate" (I had chocolate milk) . It was cute. Then he napped! This meant Jeff got to enjoy his lunch in peace. After he rose from his nap he followed the big kids into the fridge to find a snack, he brings me a grapefruit while hollering "Orange". I try to tell him he can't eat a grapefruit like that, but he isn't having any part of that. He tries to eat it with the peel, he can't and decides to put it into his little tykes basketball hoop and it get stuck. So then he hollers about that! I start to make dinner and he pulls the drawer out of the oven and sit in. I tell him that is dangerous and I don't want him to do that. I tell him he has a tent to hide in, does he want it? Yes. So I pull it out into the middle pf the living room floor but that is not good enough for Josh, he drags it into the kitchen! Gotta go because he just climbed on his car and got the dirty coffee pot out of the sink and is going around saying COFFEE!

Well you would think...
that Josh had gotten into pretty much all that he could. At least I thought so, but today Josh has started new things to make me crazy. He always had a bath after dinner, but he now is of the impression that he is to bathe after every meal. So he had one after lunch today. He likes the tub about half full and then wants the shower turned on. He enjoys letting it run on his back. The only problem with this is that I have to close the shower curtain. So after he plays a while, he always turns the cold water all the way up. He then runs to the back of the tub, yelling mommy, mommy! So I quickly shut it off and out he comes. ( fear not, he can't turn the hot water up, the knob is harder to turn than the cold water know and yes I am in the bathroom the whole time with him). Another thing Josh is now enjoying is pulling all the hats, scarves and gloves out of the bucket, spreading them everywhere and sitting in the bucket. Wonderful, since we can't keep track of gloves when they are put away! As I tried to make dinner this evening Josh took the potatoes out of the bag and tossed them around while yelling"POTATO", now they are all over the kitchen and I keep tripping on them while I try to cook. As you all know Josh enjoys "hiding" in things, but since we put locks on the cabinets he has to be more inventive, so he has decided that he should sit in the oven drawer!!!!I am going to have to figure out a way to lock that because when the oven is on, the drawer gets heated!!! He didn't eat any of his dinner, which was a delicious cheeseburger, baked potato and salad, except the cheese. He then tried to get on the table to steal Kara's (Brianna's BFF) ramen noodles. Glad I spent time making him a yummy dinner. Now I am told that last night he ate 3 helpings of dinner for Jeff and was super excellent, including climbing into Jeff's lap and just falling asleep!!!!! I am wondering why it is that my kids are wonderfully behaved for their dad and super naughty for me? What am I doing wrong??? I hope I figure it out soon. Good night and God bless!

My Josh....
My Josh is so cute and fun. My Josh has also entered his TERRIBLE TWOS!!! Wow, he is two already? you are probably thinking, but alas, he is NOT two yet. So this is cause for concern (mostly mine) since I spend the majority of his awake time with him. He has somehow come to believe that every single thing everywhere that he is, belongs to him. When the item that is not his (such as knives from the dishwasher, toilet brushes, and as always the mop and broom) he screams the highest pitched scream EVER. It echoes throughout the house and tortures my whole street. The other day as we were rushing out the door to school Josh had my blush, because as you know he likes to wear my makeup. When we got home I of course forgot that he had been playing with it and didn't pick it up and put it away. This meant I had to go to church with no blush on Sunday because when I asked Josh "where is mommy's makeup?" He acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. My friends, you might think this is true, how can he remember from 2 days ago where he had something. I thought the same thing, UNTIL Monday morning, he pulled it out of the DVD cabinet and started applying it to his face!!! This morning Josh had his little tykes slide in the kitchen and instead of sliding on it, he was using it to reach things on the counter. Like the coffee pot, which still had some coffee in it. He got ahold of the wipes and as usual pulled half of them out of the container and threw them on the floor. He convinced Ian to give him some dry cereal in an Easter basket this morning and immediately went into the kitchen to bounce the basket and cause all the cereal to fall all over the floor! He pulled a bunch of dryer sheets out of the box while I was folding laundry today. He helped me to clean the bathroom, well I cleaned the bathroom and he tried to touch everything he isn't supposed to, like the sponge, the toilet brush and kept yelling CLEANER and trying to grab all the cleaners. He has had a few time outs in his chair, including after he took off all his clothes and diaper and ran through the house naked. It was cute the first time, but after I put his diaper back on and he again removed it and ran into my bedroom and peed on the floor, that was it, off to the chair. I wanted to put his diaper on him first, but couldn't find it. SO I wandered the house looking and couldn't find it anywhere. Can you guess where I found it? IN THE GARBAGE CAN. I can appreciate his desire for cleaning up, except he will hardly ever do it when I ask him to. Like when he took an entire bag of drinking straws and put them all over the house, he would not pick them up. I will admit that he does help to empty the dishwasher almost every day, throws his diapers away, and will put clothes into the washer and dryer and hand me stuff out of the dryer to fold. One final funny story, tonight at dinner Josh's hair was in his eyes, so I said he needed a barrette to keep it out of his hair. (Jeff really nixed that idea) I then wondered aloud" if I put Josh's hair in pigtails and put him in a dress and took him to the kids school, would people know it was Josh??" Josh promptly started yelling "FREAK FREAK" Kids know way more than we think they do. Enjoy the laughs, goodnight!

cute things Josh has to say
Well, Josh has been pretty well behaved the last couple of days,(probably the cabinet locks Jeff installed!) but I have been paying more attention to his talking and so I thought I would blog about the cute things he has been saying. Josh starts EVERY morning by saying "papa" as Jeff gets out of bed to get ready for work. He immediately then rolls out of bed calling for Ian. He runs down the hall and stops to talk to Brianna and then goes to Ian's room and bangs on the door and yells "IAN". Even if it isn't time for Ian to get up. (Don't think Ian likes this too much) He then of course is "hungy" and wants only eggs to eat. After enjoying his breakfast he will then insist on following the kids into the bathroom to "BRUSH" his "teef". He of course wants his "boots" so we can take the kids to school and will yell for his "ba" as soon as we get him buckled into the car. As we drop the kids off at school, he sadly calls out to them as they get out of the car. "Ian, nanna" he says. ( It kind of breaks my heart) He then always wants to go to the "store" (do I shop too much??) He is enjoying his train book and his zoo book. He makes monkey sounds and growls as we read his zoo book and excitedly says "tain" as we read his train book. He begs for "cackers" each day at lunch while Jeff is trying to eat. Even if he has already eaten, he thinks everyone else's food is his. As soon as he hears the pantry door open he runs into the kitchen yelling"hungy" "eat" (sort of like a cat who runs to the kitchen when it hears the can opener!) He has been sweetly saying "mommie hol me" recently and I admit I really love that one. He of course thinks every big truck he hears outside is the the "man" (our garbage man) and runs to the window so he can look out to see him. He has fallen in love with watching football with Jeff and yelling "touchdown" every few minutes as they watch the games. Josh plays in the nursery at church, but when he is ready to go he puts his coat on and grabs his diaper bag and stands at the gate. Today he was there and kept yelling "nanna", the workers thought he wanted his grandma, but I said, nope, he is calling his sister. Too funny, guess he thought if I wasn't responding, maybe Brianna could rescue him. Enjoy your kids and family, and take a few minutes to enjoy the cute things kids have to say! God bless

UGH!! JOSH!!!
As the last few days of vacation wound down, Josh was still up to his tricks! Where should I begin? Well, he has been super busy. The other day I had a box of Christmas decorations out because I was still packing up. Josh on the other had thinks that he should take the ornaments and spread them all over the house. So I can't put the box away because I keep finding ornaments everywhere. He also pulled the strands of lights out and tried to plug them in. When I took them away from him, he began yelling"LIGHTS", so I plugged them in for him to look at and enjoy. He has also had the star for the top of the tree plugged in to look at on the floor. He has been of course emptying the dishwasher (even though it is still dirty), mopping the kitchen floor (with a dry mop thankfully). Although he mostly bangs into the counters with it. He has grabbed the open coffee can that I once again left too close to the edge of the counter and eaten it with a spoon. (When am I going to learn??) Needless to say he didn't nap that day! Has climbed onto the kitchen table to steal his cousin's cinnamon roll breakfast on New years day. He is still in a high chair, but like everything else he wants to be a BIG boy. So he climbs onto a kitchen chair and says 'KIDS KIDS" because he wants to sit at the table with the kids. Which would be fine except he then climbs onto the table and steals food or dances in the middle of the table, waiting until someone comes along and then he yells HOLD ME and jumps! He jumps off his slide and scares me every time. He got the hair clippers and plugged them in, which of course is very naughty (we have to get twisty plug covers, he can pull the ones we have out). Not only was this naughty, it was scary for Josh because they were turned on and started buzzing loudly when he plugged it in! I have to admit I sort of laughed at him, while scolding him. He has been told he can only eat in his chair because he leaves food everywhere in the house for a later snack time, he doesn't like this very much at all, but so far it has gone well. Except for right now, I left the pantry open when he was taking his 15 minute nap and when he got up, he pulled out some taco shells and is now dancing on them in the living room. I will report that my coffee table is doing well. Now I am not sure if this is because Josh got his own big table to play on or because we pushed it to the side of the living room so we can play the new Kinect, either way is ok with me. He as always is pulling every magnet off the fridge, every book off the shelf, and has now begun to pull stuff out of the garbage. I feel like i never have a moments peace, but I love Josh and appreciate that I can look back at his antics and laugh. I am very blessed to be able to be at home with him! Have a wonderful day! Until next time...
